What is LOCATE?

A computerized child care resource and referral counseling system;
A core service of Child Care Links - Child Care Resource and Referral Center of Harford and Cecil County;

LOCATE: Child Care:

- Offers parents information on licensed/registered child care programs in Harford and Cecil County;
- Helps parents identify and choose child care best suited to their needs, preferences and ability to pay;
- Documents the need for child care, costs of care, extent of services available and other pertinent data based on information it receives from child care providers and parents;
- Reports its findings to the Maryland Child Care Resource Center Network; which reports statistics to legislators, child care professionals, policy makers, advocates, and the general public.

How can parents use LOCATE?
By calling 443-512-0950 , Monday - Friday between the hours of 9:30 am 3:30 pm
Parents discuss child care needs and availability of care with a LOCATE counselor;
Parents are given the name, address and telephone numbers of regulated child care providers/programs over the telephone.

Where does LOCATE get the names of providers?
LOCATE receives the names of all forms of regulated child care from the Office of Child Care(OCC) through Child Care Administration, the Maryland State Department of Education, and Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
