MISSION STATEMENT: Child
Care Links addresses available, affordable, quality child care
issues in Harford and Cecil Counties.
Child Care Links is committed to expanding and enhancing the
quality of child care in Harford and Cecil Counties by helping
parents, child care providers, and the community understand and
implement the indictors of quality enabling all children to
receive optimum early care and education experiences.
Child Care Links is committed to enhancing the quality of the
child care delivery system in Harford & Cecil Counties by providing
pertinent resources, training, and referrals to families, child
care providers, and the community.
NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION:
Child
Care Links, Inc. is a non-profit, no-stock corporation under and
by virtue of the General Laws of the State of Maryland. The
Corporation is organized exclusively as a charitable and
educational organization within the meaning of section 501(C)
(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (or any
corresponding provision of any future Unlisted States Internal
Revenue law or regulations hereunder, hereinafter collectively
referred to as the Internal Revenue Code), for the following
purposes:
(a) Supporting families in
the most important roles of nurturing their children and
balancing the demands of family and work;
(b) Assisting parents in locating and evaluating child care
that is well suited to their needs, preferences, and
economic environment;
(c) Providing technical assistance to employers attempting
to respond to their employee's child care needs;
(d) Compiling, analyzing, and sharing information with
parents, child care providers, and communities;
(e) Building connections in communities and states to create
appropriate policies on family and children's issues and to
generate additional resources for child care.
MARYLAND CHILD CARE
CREDENTIAL: The Office of Child Care (OCC) credentialing
system is here. Credentialing is voluntary program for
individuals in family and center programs. Unlike accreditation,
credentialing focuses on an individuals growth in training and
professionalism.
Credentialing through OCC
involves attending Core of Knowledge approved training and being
involved in Professional Activity Units. We will be noting on
our training calendar which of our trainings are Core of
Knowledge trainings. Examples of Professional Activity Units are
being a member in a local, state or national child care
professional organization, being a presenter at a local, state
or national child care professional organization, being a
presenter at a local, state on national child care conference,
being a volunteer at Child Care Links Resource and Referral
center, etc.
